About regionThe North Moravian and Silesian Region you will find in the northeast of the Czech Republic. “Region of Contrasts and Opportunities“ is the slogan that best reflects its character. Individual tourist areas create a genuine local colour of unique contrasts and experiences. The Beskydy Mountains are characterised by highland farmsteads in secluded places and by a strong folk tradition represented not only by unique wooden buildings and churches, but also by a number of festivals and cultural events. The picturesque ness of the Moravian and Silesian Beskydy’s nature and Wallachian folklore represent the main characteristic features of “Beskydy“ holiday resort. This area is a part of fascinating, arch-shaped Carpathian Mountains dominated by the Lysá Hora (1324m) and covers the biggest nature reserve in the Czech Republic with a lot of national parks (e.g. Mionší Virgin Forest, Radhošť Virgin Forest etc.). This area offers ample natural, cultural and historic places of interest. Moravian Wallachia is birthplace of a number of prominent artists. Typically mountain architecture with a lot of wooden churches (e.g. Guty, Prašivá, Bílá), historic wooden buildings (Pustevny) and the world-famous open air museum of folk architecture (Wallachian Open Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm) are considered unique. All hiking, paragliding, golf and MTB lovers as well as cyclists and hipo-tourists will be satisfied. Wallachia is also a source of entertainment represented by the Wallachian Kingdom and a gourmet‘s paradise with unmistakeable plum brandy. An extra chapter is represented by three golf courses available. In winter, the skiing centres (Pustevny, Bílá, Soláň, Mosty u Jablunkova, Javorový, V.Karlovice etc.) offer good conditions for downhill skiers and an ideal terrain for langlaufers with dozens of kilometres of maintained tracks.
